Attorney Peter Cedeño To Deliver Upcoming Continuing Legal Education Class

On April 16, 2015, Attorney Peter Cedeño will be leading a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar focused on divorce law and custody matters. This event is hosted by the New York Bar Association Family Law Section and will be held at the Executive Conference Center in New York City.

Each attendee can earn a total of 7.0 credits from this seminar, even attorneys who are newly admitted. As a basic-level course, the seminar is geared toward those who have limited experience handling custody cases. It serves as a valuable way for attorneys to acquire helpful information that will allow them to better serve and represent future clients.

UNDERSTANDING THE BASIC ELEMENTS OF A CUSTODY CASE

Attorney Cedeño will cover many different aspects of child custody cases in New York, including temporary orders, probation reports, and home studies. He will also be discussing details related to the appointment and use of an attorney for the child.

An attorney’s role in a child custody case is key, particularly as they are responsible for the actual child. Attorney Cedeño will share insights regarding ethical considerations when acting as attorney for the child and the attorney’s relationship to the court, counsel, and the child.

Finally, the seminar will also include information on ethics in matrimonial and family law. Ex parte communications with court and forensic experts will be discussed by Attorney Cedeño.

If you are interested in attending this exciting and informative seminar, it is important to register quickly. Prices vary for NYSBA members and non-members and do increase 10 days prior to the program date. To reserve your seat at Attorney Cedeño’s seminar,
